Yesterday after work I was thinking about how I want to walk on my lunch break. These last few days have been on-and-off rain, and so when I go out at noon it’s a 50-50 chance I’ll get rained on. So I don’t go out.
I was getting all bummed out, thinking “Awww man, that sucks! But I really want to get some exercise in. What am I going to do?”
Then — like a message from above — the answer came. Get out your freaking umbrella, silly!
Dur. So simple.
So often I put roadblocks in my own way, in the form of excuses. I don’t even realize I’m doing it, and I’m not doing it on purpose. But they’re there anyway. I let them trip me up.
Sometimes it takes another person calling you out (like Tiffany Han did yesterday in our coaching call, which was, in a word, awesome). Other times you can do it yourself. Let’s give it a catchy name! The Umbrella Solution.
Have a great Wednesday!
Glad to hear you are kicking through those excuses! And what a cute ‘brella! Mine are all boring black — time to change that out!
Nice way to turn things around for yourself! Props 🙂
I can so totally identify! I love “The Umbrella Solution”. Brilliant!
